Forex CRM source code or SaaS: who will own the work?
Compare forex CRM SaaS with source-code licensing: engineering ownership, integrations, deployment, maintenance and optional mobile app scope.

Choose forex CRM SaaS when you want to operate a supported product under a service agreement. Consider source-code licensing when control over development or deployment solves a defined business requirement and you have people who can maintain the software.
Access to code is not the same as having a working engineering function. Before comparing commercial proposals, decide who will own the work after delivery.
Start with the reason you need the code
“We want more control” is a starting point, not a specification. Control over what: deployment location, release timing, a client workflow, integrations, branding, or long-term product development?
Write the requirement in a form that can be tested. For example: your engineering team needs to change a particular onboarding workflow, deploy it into the agreed environment and maintain compatibility with the trading-platform connector. Then ask whether configuration, a scoped modification or a source-code licence is the appropriate route.
If the requirement can be met by a supported configuration, buying code may create responsibilities without solving an additional problem.
Compare responsibilities, not labels
| Decision | SaaS discussion | Source-code discussion |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting | Who operates it and what does the service cover? | Who builds, secures and monitors the environment? |
| Releases | How are updates scheduled and changes communicated? | Who maintains your branch and merges upstream changes? |
| Integrations | Which connectors are included and supported? | Which connector code and third-party rights are delivered? |
| Incidents | What escalation and support terms apply? | Who diagnoses the application and infrastructure? |
| Exit | What can you export, in which format? | What can you continue to use under the licence? |
Neither column should be filled with assumptions. “Source code included” can still leave gaps in build instructions, dependencies, test environments and deployment access.
Specify the delivery inventory
Ask for an inventory covering the application repositories, database schema, build instructions, configuration reference, dependency list and deployment documentation. Define how delivery will be demonstrated. A repository that your team cannot build is not a useful acceptance milestone.
Separate modification rights from redistribution rights. Also separate a licence to use the software from ownership of the intellectual property. Confirm the applicable rights in the contract; do not infer them from the word “purchase”.
Ask how updates and vulnerability fixes are handled. If you heavily customise the product, establish who assesses the impact of future upstream releases. The ability to edit the code does not make maintenance disappear.
Treat mobile applications as their own scope
An iOS or Android application needs more than a binary. Identify whether the offer includes source repositories, branding, backend compatibility work, build instructions, store publication and ongoing updates. Clarify who owns the relevant developer accounts and signing process.
Also establish what the application actually does. A CRM app and a trading terminal are different products. Do not accept a mobile label as evidence that every desktop workflow or trading function is available.
How we present the UpTrader options
TradeLab Solutions offers UpTrader CRM SaaS and can discuss a separately scoped CRM source-code licence, with optional iOS and Android applications. The final agreement defines the components, rights, deployment responsibilities and support. These options are not an assertion that code or apps are included in every SaaS package.
UpTrader's public website describes a mobile CRM product. The source-code route described here is TradeLab Solutions' commercial offer and must be documented in the proposal.
Make the decision with the people who will run it
Bring both the commercial decision-maker and the engineering owner to the evaluation. Ask the engineering owner to review a delivery checklist before a contract is signed. Ask the operations team to validate the client workflows.
The right choice is the one your business can operate reliably, not the one that sounds more independent in a pitch.
